"You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop" ~ Rumi.
My offerings are woven from the lens of support, multiplicity, integration and connection. I am therapeutically attuned to walking beside adults whose embodied sense of self is deeply fragmented, wounding their self-concept, significant relationships and their place in the world.
My work centres on visceral (from within the body) experiencing due to complex life circumstances, relational hardships [e.g., abandonment, disrupted/ neglectful attunement, intrusion, violation, narcissism], intergenerational trauma/ oppression, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.
Talk therapy, [such as CBT or a top-down Psychological approach], privileges memory, behaviours and meaning-making. These frameworks override the unmet longing for embodied safety and interpersonal attunement.
The focus of my therapeutic practice is
~ Experientially led emergent-creative modalities integrating the body, brain, emotions, spirit, and capacities to shift from hyper vigilance towards ease and connection.
~ Befriending and fostering capacity for felt sensations, restlessness, fatigue, burnout, grief, overwhelm, anxiety, tension, and isolation.
~ Somatic resourcing and presence buffer the daily impact of traumatic stress, imprinted as rumination, shame, guilt, and self-sabotage.
~ Co-tending sensitively to emotional distress, panic, pain, hypervigilance, emotional safety, and unease.
