"You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop" ~ Rumi.
My practice centres on adults affected by adverse or complex life circumstances. The visceral experience of relational hardships [abandonment, disrupted/ neglectful attunement, intrusion, violation, narcissism], intergenerational trauma/ oppression, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence, etc, significantly interrupts the neurobiological capacity for resilience, instead priming us towards vigilance and adversity.
Talk therapy, such as CBT or a top-down Psychological approach, privileges memory, behavioural strategies, and meaning-making. These frameworks override our unmet longing for embodied safety and interpersonal attunement.
~ I support those whose embodied sense of self is deeply wounded, fracturing how they perceive themselves, fragmenting significant relationships, and their place in the world.
~ I focus on experientially led emergent-creative modalities integrating our body, brain, emotions, spirit, and capacities by
~ attending to felt sensations, restlessness, fatigue, burnout, grief, overwhelm, anxiety, tension, and isolation.
~ somatic resourcing the impact of traumatic stress, imprinted as rumination, shame, guilt, and self-sabotage in the mind, body, and spirit.
~listening deeply and sensitively responding to emotional distress, panic, pain, hypervigilance, emotional safety, and unease towards ease and connection.
